Who are we?
The Guadeloupe Zoo, in the heart of the Basse-Terre tropical forest, combines animal discovery, preservation and unique “nature” experiences.

A zoological park in the heart of the tropical forest
The Guadeloupe Zoo, also called Parc des Mamelles, is more than just an animal park. It is a site of discovery, conservation and education perfectly integrated into the humid forest of Basse-Terre.
Here, fauna and flora coexist in harmony and the natural environment is highlighted. More than 80 animal species are presented in spaces adapted to their needs.
The visit includes an exceptional journey through the Canopy, with more than 300 meters of footbridges suspended 20 meters high. A unique moment to admire the tropical forest from a different perspective.
The Guadeloupe Zoo is an essential outing for families, students, residents and visitors on vacation.

Our preservation and education actions
Each visit contributes directly to the preservation of wildlife. The Guadeloupe Zoo supports and finances numerous research and conservation programs, in particular through the EEPs.
The Park is also a member of international associations such as AFDPZ, ALPZA, EAZA and WAZA. These commitments reinforce its role in the global preservation of endangered species.
Visitors can talk to animal carers during daily commented feeds or during more occasional activities. School outings are also organized to educate children about species protection.

The Antilles-Guyane SOS Wildlife Center
The Guadeloupe Zoo houses a specialized care center for injured or distressed wild animals. The teams collect, care for and release endemic species into their natural environment. The objective is clear: to contribute to the preservation of indigenous wild populations in Guadeloupe and in the Antilles-Guyana.
Complementary experiences nearby
Extend your visit with a moment of relaxation at the Le Pik restaurant, located at the entrance of the park.
A convivial lunch or a gourmet break surrounded by nature perfectly complete the outing.
And for thrill seekers, go to Tapeur, a tree-climbing park located just in front of the Zoo. Zip lines and aerial courses await you in the heart of the tropical forest.
An ideal activity after discovering the Zoo Canopy.
